“GALAXY” from Ladies’ Code is bitter-sweet
But we should celebrate this new chapter and try not to dwell on the past. It’s really hard though, and I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. The tragedy that befell Ladies’ Code in 2014 affected me heavily, and thinking back on it makes those feelings resurface. I tried to watch their Pretty Pretty video after watching GALAXY just to reminisce, and I couldn’t get through the first few seconds. I will support Ladies’ Code forever. It’s hard to enjoy their music with a happy heart and mind given their past, but I’ll be damned if I’m not going to try.
GALAXY is a solid release that marks a complete 180 degree turn for the group. The girls are full fledged adults now and that shows through their music, styling, concept and performance. Stylistically they kind of remind me of a sophisticated and soulful Perfume what with there being three members, the hairstyles and the geometry. Absolutely love this release and I think you guys will too. Enjoy below!
