Beijing-based music venue “Xiaoping (XP)” recently had its grand opening.
D-22 was one of the premier Chinese music venues of current time, hosting shows for some of China’s most notable indie bands from across the country. Recently it’s closed down though, and what started off as depressing news soon became exciting when the founders mentioned a new venue in the works. That new venue is Xiaoping, and it’s already booking shows. It’s great to see the new spot settling in so easily (I really wasn’t expecting otherwise). Popular band Carsick Cars played at the cafe on May 1st to celebrate its opening, and some May show dates are already posted (thank you Pangbianr and Jingweir). Check below for some live video footage of Carsick Cars’ performance as well as XP’s May show dates.
