While K-pop continues to garner attention around the world, little is known about Korea?s other music scenes.??Korea Rocks presented by Hyundai Card Music hopes to help change this by showing people that Korea has a rock ?n? roll scene that ? well, to put it in the simplest terms, ?rocks!?
Korea Rocks will showcase some of the top talents in the country?s rock music scene during a UK tour that will include appearances at the Focus Wales and Liverpool Sound City music festivals and club shows in Kent, London, and Manchester. ?Wristbands or tickets will be required for the festival shows at Focus Wales and Liverpool Sound City, but the Korea Rocks club gigs in Kent, London, and Manchester will be?free concerts!
The lineup for the first Korea Rocks features:
Psychedelic garage rock/punk act Galaxy Express (2011 Musician of the Year / 2009 Best Rock Album winner at the Korean Music Awards)
Post hardcore/post-rock act Apollo 18 (2010 Rookie of the Year at the Korean Music Awards)
Hard rock / alt-rock act Gate Flowers (2011?Rookie of the Year / 2011 Best Rock Song winner at the Korean Music Awards)
Groovy psychedelic soul/pop act?Goonamguayeoridingstella ? but you can just call them ?Goonam? if you?d like (nominated for Best Modern Rock Album at the 2012 Korean Music Awards)
