Although it still leaves some things to be desired
Although I think Catch Me is a much better song than MoMoMo, there’s still a lot more that could’ve been done to take this release to higher levels. Compared to MoMoMo’s visual this MV looks thrown together and last minute- the outfits look kind of cheap and the stage is boring, remaining the same throughout the entire video. Also this kind of sexy, badass concept comes off a bit awkward for Cosmic Girls and I think that’s due to the combination of them being young, inexperienced and not quite at this level of maturity yet lmao, cause MoMoMo came off way more natural and aligned with where they are as a group.
I don’t know any of the members by name, but that one girl that keeps doing that cartwheel/somersault thing… can she do anything else? No shade, but I’ve had to see that same trick like 5 times now. I know it’s a part of the choreo but aren’t they using her gymnastics background or something like that for promo? All I’m asking is can I see a little more, cause it’s not exciting anymore and tbh me and the homies were doing stunts like that back in the day in like elementary school. If anyone has clips of her doing some really cool trick shit, holla at me!
Overall this SNSD wannabe (I don’t mean that negatively, Cosmic Girls are just literally trying to be the next Girls’ Generation) shows promise. I think they have the potential to gain a strong fandom, especially with their unit division concept- they already have a decent amount of buzz because of some of their members and group size, so they’re a bit ahead of the game.
