The Charon EP is an electro art crossover between East and West, the traditional and the contemporary, reflecting upon Chinese mythology relating to the red spider lily, described in translations of ancient texts as flowers that grow in hell and guide the souls of the dead along the path to reincarnation, and how this is balanced against the somewhat dystopian cyberpunk realities that are becoming apparent in many Asian cities. The remixes of the Charon EP came about as a result of the subsequent Charon tour through China and SE Asia in January/February 2019 in support of the EP. The artists featured are individuals Guiguisuisui met, played with, and shared with on their adventures, and invited to collaborate by reinterpreting a track of their choice however they chose to.

The artists include:

Lastboss (Zhuhai, China)

Tyz (Beijing, China)

Rudi Botes (Beijing, China)

thruoutin (Beijing, China)

ZAch (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam)

No Shore (Siem Reap, Cambodia)

Ethereal Void (Bangkok, Thailand)

Ninjablade (Tianjin, China)

Today also marks the release of the MV for ‘Silent Fire 静火‘ from the original Charon EP. Filmed and edited by Lui Kimishima in Beijing at Quasar Science studios, with lighting by Professa J Productions, the video further explores the post futurist Ghost in the Shell/Blade Runner themes that are being lived out across East Asia.
