Japan’s music industry can be pretty damn funny. On one hand you have upbeat dance tracks that are totally of the moment, and on the other you have groups that release music that are so dated that the style is probably older than their listeners. SHU-I are doing disco, from the beat all the way down to the choreography. Yes, they’re pointing fingers and popping out hips in this one. Old fashioned music like this is so common in Jpop that I’m surprised it still phases me. For what it is, Daigyakuten is a good song.
