Pairs by Nicola Edwards

This Shanghai duo is saying goodbye

Don’t know whether to be happy or bummed. Shanghai based band Pairs, a duo we’ve been supporting for a while now, has released their new album Brief Lesbian in collaboration with Reykjavictim which is obviously great news. Along with this news, however, came the surprising announcement of this being their second to last album before they break up, their final album set to be released sometime in May (so soon! 🙁 ). Don’t know why the band is deciding to stop- maybe they feel Pairs has run it’s course? Regardless of the reason it was great being a part of their journey in some way shape or form, and we wish them the best of luck as they move on to new projects. Take a listen to Pairs’ new album below and check out the making of video for Brief Lesbian.

Brief Lesbian’ will be our second last album before our final album is released in May and the band breaks up.

Recorded in bits and pieces for far too long, we’re super happy to announce that our new album ‘Brief Lesbian’ is finally out and about in the world.
This album wouldn’t be anything without Adam McRae who plays as one man music machine, Reykjavictim (reykjavictim.bandcamp.com)
We recorded drums first, Adam then went and piece them together and we wrote songs around those beats, then added guitar and vocals and Adam added synth and his vocals over top and mixed and mastered the whole thing. A sincere, huge thank you to Adam for all his hard work! Buy his music!

Also featuring on the album is Tom Lyngcoln from Australian bands, Harmony and The Nation Blue. A truly awesome head. As well as Marcus Hobbs of Australian band, East Brunswick All Girls Choir who shredded 14 guitar solos over top of each other in ‘Bloodshot’ whilst having his shirt tucked in to his jeans for some unknown reason.
